ABA Therapy

What is ABA Therapy?

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Therapy is an evidence-based treatment that is focused on behavior and its consequences. It generally involves teaching individuals more effective ways of behaving through positive reinforcement and working to change the social consequences of existing behavior. ABA can be effective with: 

​

- decreasing challenging behaviors 

- increasing functional language and independence

- teaching socially significant skills 

- improving academic performance

- increasing health and wellness outcomes

- teaching self-management techniques 

- training parents and caregivers on intervention strategies

Is ABA Right for You?

ABA therapy can benefit your loved one if they:

​- resist changes in routines

- have trouble focusing on tasks

- need help with completing daily living skills (brushing teeth, toileting, chores, etc)

- frequently become upset when told "no" or "wait"

- display little to no interest in others

- frequently repeat words or phrases heard from their environment
